Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park After breakfast, drive south west via Masindi arriving in the afternoon in Murchison Falls National Park. Upon your arrival in the park, you will hike to the top of the falls to see how the wonderful Nile River forces itself through a narrow gorge through which it explodes into one of the world’s spectacular falls. Later transfer to your lodge. Dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge / Sambiya River lodge /Red chili Camp Day 2: Wildlife tour / Boat cruise At dawn go for a game drive through the park searching for predators and other wildlife. The drive will enable you to spot game like Hyenas, Leopards, elephants, buffaloes, hartebeests, Oribis, Uganda Kobs, giraffes, etc. In the afternoon you will go for a boat cruise on the Victoria Nile leading you to the bottom of the falls. The ride will reward you with wildlife including Crocodiles, hippos, elephants, buffaloes, and a plethora of birds. Dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge / Sambiya River lodge /Red chili Camp Day 3: Transfer to Kibale After an early morning breakfast, drive off to Kibale National park. It will take you about 8 hours to reach Fort portal. So it is advisable to carry some lunch as the journey is quite long. After checking in at the lodge, then go for a walk in the Bigodi wetland sanctuary. The walk will reward you with rich fauna and flora. You will see primates like Bush babies and colobus monkeys. Dinner and overnight at Ndali Lodge / Mountains of the Moon / Primates lodge Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking After breakfast transfer to Kibale NP Headquarters in preparation for a morning chimpanzee tracking. At 8.00 am begin chimp tracking along the tracks in the forest to search for chimpanzees. This informative walk through the park will enable you to enjoy not only chimpanzees but also the diverse flora and fauna in Kibale Forest. If you are lucky to find the chimps hunting this is the best time, as you watch them share the meat amongst themselves. Drive to Fort Portal for your lunch before proceeding to Queen Elizabeth national park. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge / Mweya Institute of ecology Day 5: Game drive / Boat ride along Kazinga channel Rise up for a cup of coffee and undertake an early morning game drive in search of early risers and predators as they retune to their hide outs. During the drive watch out for game including some of the Big Five animals including lions, elephants, and other animals such as leopards, giant forest hogs, hyenas, Uganda kobs, warthogs, etc. Return to the lodge after the game drive for a heavy breakfast. After lunch go for a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel. The Kazinga channel connects Lakes George and Edward highly congested with game like Hippos, elephants and buffaloes at the shores notwithstanding a plethora of migratory and Albertine Rift Endemic birds. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge / Mweya Hostel Day 6: Return to Kampala You may go chimpanzee trekking in the Kyambura sector of the park. The Kyambura Gorge is home to chimpanzees, black and white colobus monkey, bush babies, etc. Later drive back to Kampala arriving in the evening. |
